Symposium

Clinicians in the UK are regularly forced to balance the demands of payers, commissioners and their own clinical experience when treating patients with complex wounds.

The symposium took the form of a debate which involved the expert panel asking what clinicians need to consider when choosing a dressing, both in terms of the patients’ needs and economic constraints. The panel consisted of experts in the varied fields of Health Economics, Medicines Management, Tissue Viability and Clinical Research who all tried to sway the audience to their point of view at the end of which the audience was then asked to vote on which discipline they considered to be the most important when treating wounds in the current challenging healthcare environment.
